Terms of Service

By accessing or using PlainDoc (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

PlainDoc is an AI-powered tool that analyzes Philippine employment contracts and generates plain-language summaries, risk flags, and recommendations. The Service accepts PDF files and photos of contracts.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PlainDoc only for:

• Analyzing Philippine employment contracts and related documents
• Personal, non-commercial informational purposes

You agree not to:

• Upload documents containing illegal content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or overload the Service
• Represent PlainDoc's analysis as professional legal advice to third parties
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
• Publish or share PlainDoc analyses that identify a specific employer or worker by name (in any medium, including social media, messaging apps, or forwarded emails) without prior redaction or the written consent of the named party. Public sharing without consent may expose you to liability under RA 10175 (Cybercrime / Cyber Libel) and RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act).

4. Account Terms

You must create an account via our authentication provider (Clerk) to use the analysis features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Each person may maintain only one account.

5. Pages and Payments

• Free tier: Every user receives 4 free pages per month, with a 5-page maximum per analysis. Free pages reset monthly and do not roll over.
• Pay-per-use: Additional usage is sold in 3-page packs through PayMongo. Purchased page packs do not expire.
• Subscriptions: Standard and Agency Pro are manual-renewal monthly plans fulfilled through one-time PayMongo checkouts. There is no auto-charge and no rollover of unused monthly pages.
• Refund policy: Purchased page packs and subscriptions are generally non-refundable. However, if an analysis fails to complete due to a technical error on our end, contact support@plaindoc.app within 7 days for review.
• Payment processing: Payments are processed by PayMongo. By purchasing, you also agree to PayMongo's terms of service.

6. Intellectual Property

Your documents: You retain all ownership rights to the contracts and documents you upload. We claim no rights to your content.

Our service: The PlainDoc platform, including its design, code, analysis methodology, and brand, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Philippine law, PlainDoc and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to losses arising from reliance on AI-generated analysis.

8. Analysis History & Data

• No document storage: Your original contract text is processed in memory and never saved to any database or file system.
• Opt-in analysis saving: You may choose to save AI-generated analysis results to your dashboard. Saving is off by default.
• Retention: Saved analyses are automatically deleted after 1 year. You may delete any or all saved analyses at any time from your dashboard or Settings.
• Data export: Paid users may export a single analysis as PDF. Standard and Agency Pro users may also download all their saved analyses as a structured JSON file from the dashboard.
• No AI training: Your data is never used to train AI models. We use Anthropic's Claude API under terms that prohibit training on API inputs.

Your use of PlainDoc is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173).

10. Termination

You may stop using PlainDoc at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, any unused purchased pages remain on your account but cannot be refunded. Expired subscriptions fall back to pay-per-use or free access based on the remaining purchased pages on your account.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the Philippines.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
